Added the TXT record about two hours ago at my registrar. The dashboard still says the record isn't there when I press Check.
dig +short TXT _buildapi.mysite.comreturns nothing for me either, so I don't think it's you.
If dig returns nothing then the record genuinely isn't live yet and BuildAPI is telling you the truth. Two things catch people out:
- Some registrars want the host as `_buildapi` only, others want the full `_buildapi.mysite.com`. Entering the full name where they expect the short one gives you `_buildapi.mysite.com.mysite.com`.
- TTL. If you had a negative cache from an earlier failed lookup you may be waiting that out.
Check against an authoritative nameserver directly:
dig +short TXT _buildapi.mysite.com @ns1.yourregistrar.comIt was the first one. My registrar appends the domain automatically. Removed the suffix and it verified within a minute.
